Every Xano workspace includes Real-Time Collaboration which enables you to edit your API simultaneously with your team, just like a Google Doc!

Presence

Real-time presence informs you when a team member is present in the workspace somewhere, indicated by an icon representing them in the header. realtime-collaboration-20260401-113113 You’ll also see more specific callouts in the Stack view if they are present in a workflow. realtime-collaboration-20260401-113257

Team Activity & Secure Chat

While it is not meant to replace your existing communication platforms, you now have the ability to chat real-time in Xano with others who are present in the same workspace. Chat is accessible by clicking the User/Team Menu in the top navigation bar. realtime-collaboration-20250925-215336 Clicking this will open the Collaboration panel. You can see the current chat history, and send your own messages from here. Please note that chat history only persists per session; if you refresh your browser any current chat messages will disappear from your view. This Collaboration panel also displays a list of users who are currently present in the workspace, and what page they are on. You can use this to quickly navigate to where another user is working. realtime-collaboration-20250925-215409 When a new message is sent, it is broadcasted to all users currently present in the workspace via a notification in the lower-left corner. realtime-collaboration-20250925-215431

Group Editing

Xano allows you to see when functions are being worked on by another team member. This is noted on the right side of each function, as shown below. realtime-collaboration-20250925-215501 This also exists in the database view. Quickly see exactly what each team member is working on. realtime-collaboration-20250925-215523 Revision History As your team members make changes, you can see these drafts by clicking the Revertable Changes indicator at the top of the page. Requesting Access to Edit a Function

When trying to access a function that is currently being worked on, you’ll be given a notification in the lower-left corner notifying you of this, and giving you an opportunity to request edit access. realtime-collaboration-20250925-215647 When you request access, the other user is notified and can either grant you edit access to this function, or ignore your request. realtime-collaboration-20250925-215658
